It's not that he's such a tool guy, but the fabric is just too irresistible for man projects! Truth be told, a bicycle print would have been a more appropriate choice, but I'm sadly lacking in Echino bikes. Cameras yes, bikes no. Hmm, I see an online shopping transaction in my immediate future.
See how easily distracted I am?
Back to the cozy. This was an 11th hour by-the-seat-of-my-track-pants last minute gift completed on Christmas eve.
Hair elastic & button closure
Embellished with machine triple-stitch, which I am likely to do on linen patchwork projects
B put his new cozy to work straight away, and brewed up a Bodum of Christmas blend to enjoy during our family present opening. The fun part was that I forgot to return the bodum to the kitchen cupboard after taking it to my sewing room a few days before Christmas for measurements. He spied it on my table while ironing a shirt for work - he thought it strange, but never considered a quilty project was in the works.
Note to self: it is possible to create gifts right before their very eyes.

That's great material! I love your triple stitch. I am going to have to investigate and see if my machine does that. It's pretty funny that he wasn't clued in....men!
Those fabrics look so great together! Cute gift!
...but only if they're a man... ;)
looks great!
That is SO cute! I do love that fabric!
So cool! And I also love that fabric!!!
We got a Bodum for Christmas from my mom, and I'm thinking it must get its own cozy soon too!
That is a great cozy :D And possibly the best material I have ever seen. Any chance you have a source for it? I would so love to nab some of my very own :D
So cool!! It has tools on it!! Perfect for that man cup...err...coffee cup. LOL! :D
I have been known to hide presents for husband in his closet. : )
Cozy looking cozy! I guess that's why they call it that...
You could experiment with progressively larger projects (for your hub) and see how far it goes!
Happy New Year Krista, btw!
Ahh CooL...or rather HOT...ahh you know what I mean...you inspire me...
It looks great! We too use Bodum tea and coffee pots/brewers/whatever they are called and could use a cosy to keep them warm. Great gift idea for next year as lots of my friends have them.
What a lovely cosy. I made one for my brother, but had to do a button closure (so it was smaller - only to fit between the handle) as I can't get the machine to sew the thick elastic that you've used - any tips?
Too cute and very inventive too, I might add. Love your choice of fabrics!
Love the Bodum cozy and the great fabric you used, but those muffins look absolutely amazing! Hmm, I must be hungry....
