It's a new year!

Seems like a good time for a little review before moving on.  Here you have a collection of some of the things I made with needle and thread in 2011.

Some Stuff by Poppyprint 2011

1. Les Petites Mugrugs2 by Poppyprint, 2. Queen of the Dresdens by Poppyprint, 3. Snowblossoms (pattern by Marcia Hohn) made by Poppyprint, 4. Linen Apron by Poppyprint, 5. RSR Thread catchers, 6. Hoot Dresden by Poppyprint, 7. Full Circle by Poppyprint, 8. Raffle quilt complete!, 9. QR Code Quilt by Poppyprint, 10. selvage mini for mamacjt by Poppyprint, 11. FTLOSS by Poppyprint, 12. Team logo stitched by Poppyprint, 13. Embroidery sampler by Poppyprint, 14. Chihuahua Princess - by Poppyprint, 15. Variegated Selvage Spool by Poppyprint, 16. Variegated Selvage Spool by Poppyprint, 17. wool felt snowflake by Poppyprint, 18. Happiness potholders, 19. House tape measures, 20. Reading pillows by Poppyprint, 21. Robot pillow by Poppyprint, 22. Poppy pouch by Poppyprint, 23. Upcycled Jean Skirt Sewing Command Center!, 24. Reading pillows by Poppyprint

Most of these things reside with others, either because they were swapped (privately, Pretty Little Pouch Swap x 2, Urban Home Goods, For the Love of Solids, Misfits Hoop), gifted (friends & family), donated (Women's Cancer, Japan Earthquake relief) or sent to bee-mates.

Which brings me to 2012. The year of ME, MYSELF and I. How totally vain.  And necessary. In all seriousness, my traditional guild has our bi-annual show in June and I really, really want to hang something in it. I need to get busy. A queen size quilt for our bed is on the agenda. I started it last February, continued in July and haven't touched it since. Other smaller projects and swaps were just so darn tempting.  If there is one thing I need in 2012 it's some self-discipline. I probably said the same thing a year ago. Maybe this time it'll sink in.

How about you? What's one thing you need in 2012?

Lovely projects!

In 2012, I need time and a little bit of luck. I can carve out the one, if I'm organized. The other one I'll just have to try for. :-)

Me, too! I am making stuff to give away but to family and close friends. I enjoyed my swaps - the challenge, the stalking etc. - but this year, it's all about me.

Great to "hear" from you again. I was just noticing today that you hadn't posted since before Christmas. Hope it was a good one for your family!

Funny, because this year I hope to do more sewing for others! 2011 was sewing for me, 2012 will hopefully reach outward a bit more!

It feels good to be selfish. :)
THOUGH -- I'm glad you waited until AFTER you made me my pillow cover. It's so so beautiful, and we enjoy it every day! :)

Oh, and the one thing I need -- sleep! :)

Sounds like a plan!
I am determined to use what I have (so to speak) and use it inventively!

Some of my favourite things from 2011 are in your mosaic- the Snowblossoms blocks and the Team Logo!! You do make a pretty Dresden too! Good for you for making 2012 about making stuff for YOU! You deserve it!

You are sounding like many other bloggers out there so far this year. Intentions are good and I hope you can stay on the straight and narrow. I, too, have all hopes of sewing more for my needs...yet, I am so tempted by all the interesting swaps already being offered in 2012. Stay strong! (Knowing me, I'll probably cave!) LOL

So many lovely items! The one thing I need more of in 2012 is time, but that's not going to happen! I'm planning on reducing stress by not giving myself too much to do, leaving me more time to do what ever I feel like! Selfish? Perhaps!

Absolutely gorgeous makes! I'm also making a quilt for myself and also wanting to learn more techniques and develop my 'skills'!

If I could, I would like more time, or a second set of hands. Not sure where I'd like the latter to grow from. Plus I'd have to buy a whole new four armholed wardrobe.
Gorgeous mosaic, you have been a busy girl. Loving your colour selections and looking forward to what you get up to in 2012!

Amen! There's nothing wrong with a little selfishness. I didn't get serious with my quilting until I took that attitude about making time for it (my creative time before or as important as everything else).

I need self-discipline this year too--for UFOs. I made a promise last year about that but didn't keep it so this year I want to make up for that big time!

Wow, beautiful projects, lovely, just lovely!

There are so many interesting and amazing things to do BUT I think what I need more than anything is to hone in and be more focused. Oh, and finish my studio, that too!

Beautiful mosaic, Krista! I'm glad you're making 2012 the year of you! It should be a lot of fun.

Lovely as ususal, Krista. What a crafty year you have had. I use my thread catcher every time I sew and I love it. Happy New Year.

Nice collage of your many creations Krista!
I too need to be self disciplined. Some of those COPs need to be completed and of course there are the quilts for the show..
I guess what I really need is a lottery win so I can retire !!! HaHaHa

Beautiful collage of projects--you have inspired me the entire year of 2011. I'm hoping to actually FINISH some projects from 2011 because I'm horrible at follow-through. Oh, so I guess that answers your question. What I really need for 2012: the "follow-through" gene. Do you know where I can purchase it?

I love your projects. For 2012 I have been encouraged to sew more doll clothes (American Girl type) and I hope to add another student or two to my private sewing lesson list. And of course, finish U.F.O's sewing, crocheting and embroidering projects.

Your body of work for 2011 is awesome! And I can't wait to see the quilt for your bedroom ...

For 2012, I need time ... or a lottery win so I can quit my job to spend my time being creative.

Happy New Year!

lovely lovely lovely - not sure how I missed some of those mosaic items the first time round? Go for it and do lots for you - we tend to be like the shoemaker - do for others first and go shoe-less ourselves.
I'm another one wanting time this year - and for the time I do have to slow down! Can't believe we're into 2012 already!

Wow, what a busy year 2011 was for you. One of my goals this year is also to do more stuff for my own family. I don't think that it is at all vain. Out of all the stuff we crafters make, little of it seems to live with us. So, it's good to take time for just you this year. Good luck!

Those are all such beautiful projects! I hope you finish that quilt for the show and your bed. I am trying to find some balance for this coming year.

Krista, you make fabulous projects and I for one hope you keep swapping it up in 2012. The same thing happens to me. I've wanted to make a fresh, new quilt for my bed for 2 years now. Haven't accomplished it yet!! Too many other more tempting offers I don't want to miss out on. Good luck with your guild quilt!

You've done so much for so many others, the lucky dogs. I agree with you. Time to make - and keep - something special just for you. The quilt is a great start. Go for it man!

Oh yeah, and happy New Year 2012!!! Thanks for the lovely Christmas wishes you left, like weeks ago!
