Who's the Lucky Girl Now?

Me! It's me!

A couple days after I left for vacation I was talking to B on the phone (yup, the poor guy had to stay home and work while we got to sun our buns in Florida). He said that a package had arrived for me all the way from Portugal. I was still waiting for my Urban Home Goods swap, so I got really excited and spent ages scrolling through the Flickr stream one photo at a time on my iPhone trying to figure out who in the group lives in Portugal. I even asked another friend in the group for help, but we couldn't figure it out! Aaaaaaaah! I'd have to wait a whole week!

As you can imagine, the first thing I did on Sunday night after dropping my suitcase in the front hall , was run to the kitchen counter and rip my parcel open. It was from the talented Isabel (known as rosaechocolat on Flickr). Man, she really treated me right. Just look:

A beautiful tea cozy that fits my personal teapot perfectly!

And....

A gorgeous cover for my Pfaff. Happy Sewing, indeed!
{edited to add: here is the video Isabel used for making these stitches which are done with "Portuguese knotted stem stitch" How cool is that? Even the stitches are Portuguese! She used crochet thread, which is how they are so fabulously 3D}

Isabel included such lovely finishing details, like the fabric tabs at the end of the ties, and the sweet embroidery...the entire back of the tea cozy is a crocheted panel done in a matching bright blue. It's all so amazing. I truly feel lucky. And very appreciative.

Thank you Isabel!!!

You received some gorgeous goodies! Love all the fabrics Isabel used and the embroidery adds a special touch. I really like those fabric ends on the ties....never seen those before.
So glad you made it safely home. You timed your trip perfectly. It has been raining and will continue to rain all week here in Orlando ;-)

Wonderful! Great tea cozy I love the colors. One of these days I hope you show us your Pfaff dressed in her new cover.

I am glad you enjoyed your vacation. Sunshine would be great with all the rain we are having in the Northwest. But...good for the flowers.

I hope you said hi to your husband on the way to the kitchen counter to open your package! It's a lovely tea cozy and sewing machine cover. What kind of embroidery is that? The letters are so three dimensional!
