When in London....

queen&corgi

Future Fat Quarterly Friends, Lords and Ladies,

It is now less than a fortnight until we meet. I so look forward to the privilege of your acquaintance. It is my one true wish to learn the ingenious method of pyjama pants construction with Dame Kerry, the ins and outs of Touchdraw with Lady Lynne, how to turn my needle and applique with Madam Mandy and finally, porthole perfection with PottyMouth Lu.

I shall depart Tuesday next aboard the Commonwealth stalwart Air Canada. I shall dine on a gluten free supper, then recline behind my tana lawn sleeping mask so as to arrive well-rested and ready for adventure on the wild streets of London.  My Lady-in-Waiting Leanne awaits (because that's what ladies in waiting do, right?) to guide me around the sights and tour me through the Liberty flagship, where I believe I may just acquire a crown jewel's worth of fabric.

Things will be busy at the Palace, wot with the imminent arrival of the latest royal.  I shall instead retire to the Grange Strathmore and leave the diaper changes and midnight feedings to the experts in the Palace.  I say, this weekend of sewing comradery couldn't come at a better time! I've even taken the rare opportunity to "shack up", as they say. Susan and I shall reminisce about old times; walking uphill to school in knee-deep snow both ways, slugging beer in gravel pits on Friday nights, cranking Gordon Lightfoot on our tape decks and smothering flapjacks with Maple Syrup. It shall be divine.

Until then, cheerio!
Queen Poppyprint

Are you doing Liberty Thursday afternoon? If so, see you there!!! Your bedroom has been prepared chez moi - I say bedroom, I of course mean the cottage. HRH shall have her own residence whilst in the country. One wouldn't expect any less.

This made me chuckle! I shall get to say "Hello YourMajesty" at the touchdraw class. How will that work for Ma'am? Does one have a footman to tap the iPad screen for you? Might need to borrow him as I' a touchdraw dunce!!

Okay may have to write down the fat quarterly parody of "over there" that is running through my head now!!

You'll have a blast....that particular " lady in waiting" did a marvelous job of navigating me about Quilt Con as I have no sense of direction. Have fun.
