Twenty-Thirteen

That just sounds crazy to me. No matter what I do, the new year always arrives as planned, on January 1st.  Then the next day my son T celebrates his birthday (16 this year - that sounds extra crazy). Exactly a week later, daughter D also notches up a year (14).  Are you getting the story here?  Life is non-stop from about December 20 to January 8th every year at chez Poppyprint.  This year we had the added bonus of Dad home for the entire school holidays, so we've had some really fabulous family time skiing, walking, cooking, movie-viewing and NEW SEWING ROOM SETTING UP!  More on that all-caps activity coming soon.

For now, here is a mosaic of some of the stuff I made last year. It's always good to reflect on creative endeavours, I think. Sometimes we can get into a rut and feel like nothing is making it to completion...oh, uhm, is that just me?

Well, looky here. Finished projects! Thirty-six of them (actually way more if you count the photos of 10 such and suches, like keychains or fabric buckets)!

I wish each and every one of you a very happy, healthy and creative new year. Thanks for visiting with me here at Poppyprint, even if your tea gets cold waiting for me to post something new!

You really did make a lot of wonderful things last year. My favourite is still your Blackbird Fly quilt, I still love it! And that is a lot of celebrating.

That's a lot of making! So nice to have all those photos to show what you've done.
I have a birthday right after Christmas ~ this year I was in Southern California and got to have lunch in my favorite Italian place with some really great friends I don't get to see all that often AND family! It was a great holiday this year!

What a great year for you Krista. I was thinking of you the other day, we had gone over on the ferry and stopped on Westview (I think?) by Safeway in N. Van and had lunch at the lovely McDonald's. ;) Are you near there?

Gorgeous finishes this year, Krista!

And I totally understand the insanity around birthdays and Christmas - we have 4 birthdays between Dec 6 and Jan 10…. It's chaos!

Wow, I'm visiting from Lily's. You certainly got a lot finished this year, and it sounds like your new year is a busy one too :)

Love your mosaic. I need to do that next year when I post a retrospective. Then you can get all the photos in.

I know I was surprised at just how much stuff I'd done. Were you too?
