When Megan announced her Festival of Half Square Triangles, I got pretty excited. Not because I had anything to enter, or time to make something especially for the festival, but because I was really looking forward to seeing everyone's creative HST ideas. I love the humble yet versatile, but much maligned, HST. Layout possibilities are endless and as the contest entries show, incredibly fun!
I was tickled to see that Heather's lovely mini made it into the finals for viewers choice. I just love this mini quilt and was actually lucky enough to WIN it in a giveaway on Heather's blog. You don't see the spider-leg block every day and I think it's got tons of potential for it's whirly movement and as Heather has shown, scrap-busting HSTs!
Thank you so much for sharing this mini-quilt with me Heather. It was patiently awaiting my return from France and now I've got to find the perfect spot on my sewing room Wall of Mini Quilts for it to shine.
Congratulations on making the top 10!!
Head on over to the Festival's voting page at Canoe Ridge Creations, check out all of the finalists and cast your vote! Hurry, though. Voting is only open until midnight Central time tonight.

It is just beautiful. I'm off to vote.
Love your mini!
Wow, that is a wonderful win!
I love HSTs too, and that mini is really cute and well done. I bet it is really happy in your sewing room.
I LOVE your mini but if I hadn't been too late to cast a vote I have to be honest and say I fell in love with "Flying Blind on a Rocket". Thanks for sending me over to have a boo at the finalists though.
Hee hee - I love Dianne! xxx
Totally agree about the endless possibilities of the HST. I would like to actually make an HST project one day...
Heather's mini is so pretty, how lucky were you to win it! Amazing prize!
