Passe-moi un stylo

I'm going to be needing a new pen or two. Seems my gal pals are on the same wavelength and are committed to me journaling, doodling and designing while touring France next month!

The other day Berene did one of her famous drive-bys. That's where she pulls up outside my house, parks in the middle of the street and one of her sweet kids comes running up to my front door with a special delivery. And how special is this?

Journaling en Francais

A darling Moleskin flipbook with gridded pages, perfect for quilt designing while sipping a latte on the banks of the Seine, n'est-ce pas?

oo la la stitchery

This stitchery is hardly bigger than an inch across! Berene is the most creative person I know, truly. And definitely one of the most thoughtful. See all of the other personalized notebooks she's made for friends and family here. Honestly woman, you rule.

And then there's Cindy. Someone I've never met in person, but who is SO kind that she has taken considerable time to make me the most beautiful journal cover and memory keeping pocket ever! This just arrived in the morning mail. This fabric! It is truly amazing - I know there's a lot of Paris/Eiffel Tower print out there, but I've never seen this one before.  It's a heavier, almost canvas-weight. Perfect!

Journaling en Francais

Cindy printed text onto fabric (possibly Lutridor? maybe she can let us know in the comments) to applique to both the journal cover and the memory pocket. So cool!

Definition of Stuff. Love that.  I know that D is going to claim this set the minute she gets home from school and that's okay because we'll fill it together.  I recently purchased a Polaroid PoGo inkless printer to take on our trip. It prints out 2" x 3" sticky-backed photos. I'm having a hard time with it printing with light streaks through the middle of the image, but working on some possible solutions based on internet help.  It wasn't expensive, but I would love it to work properly so that we can do instant journaling on the trip en Francais. (hoping that will help prevent some school backlash for missing 1.5 weeks of class).

Thank you both so much for your supreme thoughtfulness. You've each taken an item off my pre-trip to-do list! Journals: check. Woot!!

Now, to that custom camera bag.....

So glad you love your Moleskin. Hope it comes home ink-laden!
(FYI: For pens I'd recommend the Pilot G-TEC-C4 available at Staples. They are super fine and glide around the page beautifully.)

Those are some good peeps! What thoughtful and special gifts. I've never met Cindy either but adore her.

Have a marvellous time in France and try to soak up some of the countryside as well as the city lights. Almost every meal starts with cantaloupe and when it's filled with port, it's even better. Also, you are required to eat pastry. Nothing in France has "real" calories. All food there nourishes the soul as well and is therefore, freebies. :-)

Gorgeous, you have great taste in friends with great taste :). You need to start thinking 'café crème' rather than latte though, decent lattes are hard to find in France. Certainly no 'flat whites' as I drink when home in Australia. Or maybe you'll become an espresso convert like us!

I hear if you run a piece of blue paper through it, it fixes the issues :D
