I like books and I like this genius short video. I thought many of you might like it, too. It was filmed in a small book seller's shop in Toronto.
My favourite part is the book reading a book: so clever. Thanks to M & J for sending me that link! I don't read nearly as much as I should. My reading tends to go in fits and starts and is often based on recommendations from friends. My favorite recent read was Cutting for Stone, but that was way back in the summer. My next read will be Paris to the Moon (to get me psyched for my family's upcoming trip to France!). My current read is Wheat Belly - I've taken wheat out of my diet for a whole two weeks now and I have to say, I feel fantastic.
Hope you had (or are still enjoying) a lovely weekend. We finally got some of the cold white stuff here, yippee! I was worried it would scare some people away from retreat yesterday, but everyone was able to make it. I typically don't accomplish too much on retreat days since I'm busy with hostess duties, but I managed a bee block for Lynne, despite Agatha's protestations, and I cut all my squares for the Made in Cherry QAL after dinner. More on that soon...

Fabulous little video! I liked the book reading part, but I also loved the walls of colour - reminded me of a fabric store! I've got to get back on track and keep wheat out of my diet again - it does make me feel so much better, but I do love my breads. I'm going to have to check out "Wheat Belly".
Love the snow! and now the wonderful sunshine today our little bit of paradise - at least for a few hours!
there's a lot to like in this video! I liked the books "swimming" across the floor. It's message is true for me--there's nothing quite like a real book.
I'm a book nerd. I even have a book recommend blog. Love this video, thanks for sharing it.
I love this video! My daughter and I have watched it over and over this week. Hooray for independent bookstores!
Glad the snow didn't affect your retreat. Have fun with the Made in Cherry QAL!
Oh wow Krista that is amazing - I'm just trying to imagine how long it would have taken - incredible
Thanks for sharing this, Krista. There is truly nothing I enjoy more than reading. Even more than quilting...*gasp* !!
Also, congrats on your fabric score at RPQ. Lucky girl!
Loved the Fred Astaire book dancing! Great retreat as usual, food was especially good!

Fantastic! I wouldn't mind living in a bookstore myself, but preferably a more quiet one. Grandma needs her beauty sleep, you know
What a cool video! I loved the BonAppetit Desserts book opening with progressively smaller books coming out, like a motroyshka doll.
Cool!!!!
Oh I have to cut my Cherry blocks too... need some 28hr days!
Love it...I'm a book junkie!!!
I love this video? Did you see their original one too? I played that one over and over. I'll check out your book recommendations...I love listening on Audible while I sew.
I liked this clever video. Some people are so creative.
I love to read as well. Do you plan to stay wheat free?
I love books and finished reading Cutting for Stone over the Christmas break. I just finished reading Jennifer Chiaverini's newest book " the Wedding Quilt" . I like her stories- this one had some good moments and vignettes of her earlier stories.
Happy New Year to you and yours Krista.
Regards,
Anna
I saw the video last week and I love it! Wish I had a chance to visit the book shop.
I'm going to check out the book. I've been wanting to give up wheat for the last year, but it's very hard with a son that is allergic to rice. The usual replacement for wheat is rice so it makes it very hard to buy wheat-free. And corn is just as bad for us, and that's the next replacement. It's a hard transition to make that's for sure. We've cut down a lot in the last few years and I think it's helped a lot. Glad to hear you have been able to make the change!! Best of luck keeping at it.
That was wonderful! Love the dancing books ~ really the whole thing was amazing. That's a lot of work doing that kind of filming. Brilliant and thanks for the recommendations. I've had my eye on both books and wonder what it would be like to cut out wheat.
Love this video! Thanks Krista and thanks again for QBTB and our special rice pasta lasagna it was delish!
Oh I just love this kind of stop start animation, thanks for sharing! Reminds me I need to go and spend my Christmas book tokens as I'm nearly out of things to read...
Awesome vid, and they are right, there's nothing like a real book. Although we now have an e-reader in our house. Just so convenient for travel. I could never give up the real thing though, and I pray they never go out of fashion, whatever the future brings.
Love this link, I'm going to feature it on my blog and leave a link back to yours on it. Thanks for sharing. I have always had a love of books and to see them "playing" after the lights go out is a thrill. Thanks!
