Did you guess iPHONE WITH HIPSTAMATIC CAMERA APP???? You're so clever! Bear with me while I play with my new tech toy. I promise that this won't turn into an all-hipstamatic-photo-all-the-time blog, but this pillow seemed like a good project for trying it out. Since I made this pillow on retreat last weekend, it officially counts as the 'something old' in this post (relatively speaking).
How sweet is that wee bunny?? This is a panel by Rabbit's Haven that a customer chose for me to make a pillow for her new baby's nursery. I embroidered some of the details for extra interest, used a sweet green tweedy print for the inner border and a coordinating floral print from the Rabbit's Haven line for the main border.
The idea is that this pillow will accent the baby's vintage-look quilt that I completed last November. I hope his mommy likes it! Here's what the quilt looks like:
So, I brought home MY new baby (yes, the iPhone 4) yesterday at 3 p.m. Already my friend freaked me out by facetiming me - and of course my son answered the phone because I didn't know how. Don't think I'm a complete dufus, but I didn't even know what facetime was and the guy at the Bell store that sold me the phone and plan never told me about it. Imagine, I can video chat with someone through this tiny magic screen? Shucks. But get a load of me: I already downloaded the hipstamatic camera app, took these shots, downloaded the free Flickr uploader app and wrote this blogpost for you and it's only really my first day at this! Plus, I have texted. Like 10 times.
I'm so hip. I better get myself some low rise jeans lest anyone think I'm an actual mom.
More retreat projects to come!

I have the 3g, which I LOVE. But I'm a wee bit jealous that you have the 4. *sigh* I can think about upgrading in November. Oh, well, did I actually NEED an iPhone? No, because I sit in front of a PC for hours during the day. But... I LOVE my iPhone.(Sorry, I think I just repeated myself...) And that IS a cool app!
I never knew you were so cool and hip - you never told me. I love my iphone more than I can possibly say although I do only have the old wind-up version and nothing as hipstamatic as yours. If you get your blog up on safari then click the + button, the phone adds an app of your blog - how cool is that??? Mandy showed me how to do that because I am a technology dunce. I love getting my emails on there and I love Drop 7, a game which I always play when I'm waiting for the kids and sitting in the car - it's a kind of dorky addictive numbers version of Tetris! As I say to my kids - whatever, your mum's a total loser :-)
Don't know how I missed that app, but thanks! And to Lynne too as now I have my own blog app on my phone too! Beware though--what a time suck!
You succumbed!!! Pam will be so proud of her convincing skills LOL!! Great job of learning how to use it so quickly. Maybe I should start leaving my cell phone turned ON. That could be the first step toward being as hip as you are... although I am pretty sure my lowrise jean days are SO over..!! :0)
Love that adorable wee bunny pillow!!
Such a beautiful pillow, you are very talented, I can only dream of being able to quilt someday in the future, am just learning with a sewing machine now!
Jealous of the iphone4, I have the 3g which I am sure I do not use to its full extent lol......... x

I'm probably the only one not jealous of your i-phone. My DH has one, constantly playing with the dumb thing and always too busy to do what needs to be done around here. Sorry, not for me! I hate cell phones! When I'm gone from home, I don't want to be found....let me do my thing alone. Call me old fashioned! It's bad enough I have the Macbook sitting across from me while I'm sewing.....LOL.
Love your sweet pillow!! The embroidery really makes it special!
YIKES! Video Chat? That means you always have to wear clothes and make-up! Be prepared is going to be your motto!! :o)
P
Your too hip. I need one of those phones. Love the bunny.
You will LOVE your new iPhone! I'm so addicted to mine... and don't get me started on the cool photo apps. Hipstamatic is just the beginning of all the photo apps you can buy. Have fun!
Jennifer :)
hipstamatic apps are addicting... totally addicting. And then there are the rest of the camera apps for the iphone. I'll dig up a link and email it to you. I just got my iphone 3 in January, it was only $50 with my contract renewal, but I already want the 4. I think it's my lot in life to be a good two years behind technology. And most of the time I'm Ok with that.
What a sweet bunny pillow!
Lol, my sisters and daughter are also gadget girls, but I have no idea what all that stuff means.-)
Lovely, lovely cushion even woythout an iPhone in sight!
This is a particularly amusing post given our discussion about cellphones at the retreat! Was it Krista's iPhone that got you? Because dang that is one cool gadget. I must resist, though. I am already addicted enough to the interwebs; I don't need something to enable me further!
