Boo!

It's October! How did that happen?

Our visit is going nicely here. My parents celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary yesterday under beautiful sunny skies. In fact, their entire vacation has been sunny. It's a record! No really: Vancouver has had the driest August/September EVER since someone started recording temperatures and measuring rainfall in the late 1800's. I'll take it. As long as it snows when it's supposed to.

Sewing is as sparse as rainfall, however I managed to complete my October Stash Trad block for Cindy last night. I loved making this block (there is something so satisfying about all those nested seams!), so I made two. I'll use the duplicate for our VMQG annual Hallowe'en block exchange. You can find a tutorial for this "Great Granny Square" here

Love this block. I have my Halloween prints pulled and had thought about doing a granny square...this proves it is the block to make. Enjoy your visit with parents....

Happy anniversary to your parents ~ 47 years is a long time!
It's been dry here in Portland too and warm (tho it's 50 degrees right now). I'm loving it but looking forward to the rain too and no snow!
Thanks for the link to the tutorial, I really need to make this block!

WOW, 47 years, that's awesome. I love it that there are still couples who last. The quilt block is super fun too!

Cindy, (well I suspect the grandkids really), will end up with a great quilt!

Cute block Krista! I especially love the little owls gathered round their skeleton friend. the orange and black material has a helter skelter sort of feel, just perfect for halloween.
Congrats to your parents on 47 years! A long time to be livin' and lovin' together.

I'm SO excited to receive this block. I'm not really a Halloween person. However, I'm so excited that I chose Halloween granny blocks. They are all so awesome. I love those little owls. Thanks, Krista!!
