Crafting a Candy Cottage

We are all in agreement, it's our best ever Gingerbread Cottage.

It began last night...

Dough today, House tomorrow
Mmmmm, dark molasses direct from Barbados. Thanks Mom!

Then continued late this afternoon...

Young architect at work

And into this evening...

Our 2011 GB house

Ta Da!

Our 2011 GB house

I sent B & D off to the store with very clear instructions "we don't need much candy. Only a few pieces of a bunch of different kinds will do".   Ahem.  May I present the leftovers (at least the ones that haven't been eaten yet):

The leftovers

I hope all of your preps are going well and that you're able to take a few moments each day for a cup of tea by the fire, or to admire your Christmas tree, or to read the greeting cards coming to your mailbox. I took a very few moments today (like 8 minutes, I think). I hope to be back at my machine tomorrow.

Apologies to my bloggy friends - I haven't had a chance to read many posts in the past week. With the kids home from school, laptop time is hard to come by for Mom and to be honest, that's just fine with me. We have family arriving on the 27th (yes, far, far away sister and her family are coming to visit!!! Woot!!!), so I likely won't make it back here for a while.

I'll take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy Christmas indeed. Thank you for visiting Poppyprint in 2011. I've so enjoyed your company!

Love,
Krista
