Where Pat and I Chat about Sweden & Retreats

I was so excited when Pat Sloan asked if I would like to be a guest on Pat Sloan Radio again so that we could talk in more detail about retreats and the Retreat Host Manual e-book that I'm working on. Pat found out that I'd just been to Sweden, so she wanted to talk about my teaching abroad experience as well. You can listen to our chat here.

I'm just now going through my photos from Sweden and hope to get a couple of posts together before I leave on my annual Loon Lake retreat on Saturday. Wish me luck - I still have to sort out what I'm going to work on for 5 days...so many unfinished projects and new ideas.

Temperature Check Classes in Sweden

Here are some of the lovely quilters I met at the Rikstacket meeting in Upplands Vasby (just outside Stockholm) and their in-progress Temperature Check quilts!

Temperature Check Classes in Sweden

This is the sweet group of women that took my workshop
in the northern town of Pitea (pronouced Pit-ay-o) on the 65th parallel. My friend Stina (far left) worked so hard to organize my visit....wait until you see the quilt that she, Marica and Louise made for me!

More coming soon!

  3. I enjoyed listening to your podcast with Pat Sloan and hearing you talk about retreats and your special time with Stina. I am proud to call Stina my friend. I too met her through this fantastic media of blogging and we have met several times now in England. Wishing you good luck with your further adventures.

  7. I love how the colours chosen are just a tiny bit different from typical north american choices. I especially love the grey/orange (far right, top pic) and the purple/grey (second from left, top pic) and the orangey- pink/blue-purple-grey border in the bottom picture.

Congrats on being on Pat's show too!

And have a blast at Loon Lake. Say hi to everyone I know. If there are any openings for next year, I would love to go. Top three reasons Nicole should go to the Look Lake 2016 retreat: 1. she'll be 40 that year, 2. the baby will be in kindergarten (finally!), 3. inheritance from grandma is not enough for a long arm but is enough to go on retreat. 8)

    Enjoy the break!
