The first person to guess what these are gets a FQ!
The first time in my life I've been to a public beach where people take off their shoes and leave them 'at the door'. Including several brand new pairs of TOMs! What?
Here's B and I walking on Cannon Beach (photo by D)
Everyone was super welcoming and friendly, especially Violet and Monica who both took a very long morning coffee break with me which was so lovely! I absolutely can't wait to return!
Just because we could
Marshmallow shooters?!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful area!
The shoes at the door... We noticed it too. And I did the same thing. I think it is because the sand is so soft and the water is so beautiful that I was just compelled to remove my shoes and run towards the water. It's also very difficult to walk in the sand with shoes. :-)
ReplyDeleteduh, they're quilt hangers--isn't everything? Or is that just my exercise equipment?
ReplyDeleteI think those thingees are helium balloon blow-er-uppers? Beautiful pictures, beautiful vacation spot!

What a nice vacation. We took our grandson there last month too. We had lots of beach time with our home base at Cannon Beach. Hug Point, Indian Beach and drives to anywhere the car would stop. Lots of memories for us and one you will enjoy looking back on too! Great fun. It is amazing what they will leave on the beach!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos, Krista! You really have an eye for composition. Looks like you had a great vacation!
ReplyDeleteBefore I even read below the picture I knew these were marshmallow shooters, my younger brother tortured me with one!
ReplyDeleteThis vacation looks like it was lovely.
Looks like a fab place to visit. I'm also off to google a marshmallow shooter now... (which incidentally sounds like it ought to be a drink ;o) )

Great photos! I have been to Cannon Beach loads of times, but I have never seen the Marshmallow shooters. I must not be hanging out with the right crowd. ;)

We were there too from Aug 18-25. We were camping with our trailer in Seaside, we were at Oswald beach so the kids could surf and Canon Beach just cause it's beautiful. Beautiful photos. I think those are pogo sticks on that colorful photo.
ReplyDeleteI thought scooters but what the heck is a marshmallow shooter?!!! Why?!!! Americans are crazy... Lovely photos!
ReplyDeletethat photo reminds me of tie-dye versions of 'the club', the anti-car theft thing that was advertised on tv a gazillion years ago :)
ReplyDeleteHaha, I knew they were marshmallow shooters the second I saw your pic! And yes, we are crazy awesome American's who build guns to shoot sugar puffs out of the leftover sprinkler pipes. Ha!
ReplyDeleteThese pics are gorgeous Krista, absolutley stunning. Makes me want to drop everything and go to Manzanita RIGHT NOW!
I have no idea what a marshmallow shooter is (the quality control dude who stands by the conveyor belt in the factory pulling out the non-conforming sweets?), but they sound interesting.
ReplyDeleteThe photos are beautiful Krista - you need to increase their size on your blog so we can enjoy more.
That is a beautiful beach and it looks like you had a lovely time.
ReplyDeleteFunky metal detectors ?
ReplyDeleteThe beach looks so gorgeous.
I have no idea what they are, but this is an idea for funky crutches!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the glimpse of seaside life now that fall just has hit us,)
Lovely photos of a lovely family in a lovely location - LOVELY
ReplyDeleteWho Knew there was such a thing as a marshmallow shooter!!
We made marshmallow shooters during summer school...cheap fun!
ReplyDeleteHah! Look like shoe racks to me! Beautiful vacation pics!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a wonderful place to be! I'm afraid I didn't know they were marshmallow shooters...I need to get out more often!
ReplyDeleteMy son used to live in Manzanita and we would stop there when on the road RVing. Nehelem State Park is right there - fabulous place - even has facilities for traveling with horses and access to the beach. Oregon has the most beautiful state parks of any of the states we visited.
