Katie commented that it would drive her crazy to have to remove all of her family passports from five individual covers to go through customs. That got me thinking about a friend who is traveling to California for her family's first trip to Disneyland next week. A passport holder for 4, coming right up!
My kids are old enough to carry their own documentation, but I can see how it would be helpful to have one cover for the whole family when you've got younger ones traveling with you. I used Jessica Jones' Outside Oslo home dec weight fabric (available from my fabulous partner Tammy at Marmalade Fabrics) for the outside, and some dots for the lining and pockets (is this Amy Butler? I thought it was, but I can't find in anywhere online. It's been in my stash for ages).
I think this will come in very handy for their trip!
Still crossing my fingers for you!
ReplyDeleteHow old are your kids?? I think my kids would have to be 20 before I trusted them with any official documentation!
Super smart solution! I wouldn't want my kids carrying their own passports either (although I do let them pack completely on their own and don't worry about them forgetting anything else).
ReplyDeleteA few more days until you leave! Woo hoo!
You allow your children to carry their own passports? Jeez Nigel, you are inviting holiday mayhem!
ReplyDeleteLiking the Family size; fingers and toes crossed for tomorrow. (PS. Have you left him some frozen dinners in the freezer!?) xxx
ReplyDeleteThis idea is far better - 1 person responsible for all the passports (and you will have ALL the passports, when the time comes). And well considering how the last week has gone that job looks like it's down to you Krista. Have a great holiday.
ReplyDeleteHeh, my parents happily handed me my own passport too, but then they also let me wander off to foreign countries without them when I was 12, so they kind of had to ;o)
ReplyDeleteKeeping everything crossed for Wednesday!
Have a great trip! These are a very nice way to keep those passports from slipping away. Smart looking and so practical! Enjoy yourselves.
ReplyDeleteI don't care if my kids are forty - if they are travelling with me, I hold the passports. I would just spend the whole trip worrying otherwise!
ReplyDeleteThis is a fantastic idea! Why have four holders when you can have one? Yes!
ReplyDeleteI agree with the others, combining all the passports in one pretty holder: excellent idea!
ReplyDeleteTravel gives pleasure, but travel with family always gives more pleasure.
ReplyDeleteThis is an excellent idea.
ReplyDeletesuch a great idea! only 2 of us but we have 4 passports so this would be a perfect little project in anticipation of overseas jaunts. Just been catching up on your passport dramas! lordy! x
ReplyDeleteSo? Its Wednesday morning...was his passport ready? Enquiry minds need to know!
ReplyDeleteI echo Jane's question...please dish! Should I be planning a casserole drop off so B doesn't starve while you enjoy the gustatorial delights of France?
ReplyDeleteI adore this! Very cute, Krista!
